One of the hardest reviews I have written. We booked a Friday night stay; we found the place to be clean and comfortable. Bar / reception staff were efficient and polite. The restaurant part was fine and the evening meal that we ordered was cooked beautifully, we think some of our fellow diners were local residents which proves that the evening meals and probably the lunches are popular. The chef is highly rated. Sadly the next morning we were shocked by what was served up masquerading as breakfast. I know not who was playing around in the kitchen, but it certainly wasn't a chef. I have posted two pictures. The black clock in the dining room I found slightly amusing, the red one in bedroom I did not as it kept me awake! The whole point of our stay was to break a journey in order to continue the next day rested and refreshed. In this respect Seashells failed to deliver in that I didn't feel fully rested because of that damn clock and the breakfast was inedible. However, I must emphasize that the place was clean, we were treated respectfully, and the rates are very reasonable.
