Stopped for a cream tea and it was delicious. The garden was absolutely beautiful and the man who runs it was very friendly and helpful with lots of suggestions and recommendations of things to do in the area which we found really helpful. (We went to the little church you told us about and it was amazing) Will definitely return for another scone and chat if we're ever in the area again. Don't understand the bad reviews. Some people just love to complain!

Perhaps it was the beautiful garden that lured me in; possibly the spontaneity of seeing a sign for cream teas and possibly a combination of the above plus the perfect spot to rest and enjoy the sunshine. The host was pleasant and courteous, the cream tea (coffee) ticked the box, although yes, it possibly was instant. The location was perfect and the public looks are just across the river via a footbridge. For me, it was a very enjoyable experience which added to my couple of days away for R and R
