We sat out front, because the beer garden was closed. When no one came to take our order I went back inside to do it at the bar.
Some time later, back at our table (and still without food or drinks), the waitress appeared to say that we needed to pay before we ate - we didn't know that and being new neither did she. Now that's fair enough maybe, but you could have said sooner, and don't ask a customer to select an 'in advance' service charge on the card machine, when they haven't had their meal, a drink or the service. If you don't trust me to pay when I've finished and all that.
The food in the end was okay, but so it should be for pricey 20 a portion pub grub.
No one came to ask how the food was, or if we needed more drinks or dessert, so we just left.
