I spent a race training weekend on Wild Spirit and Paul with his fastnet crew. A difficult weekend to plan due to strong winds (30 - 40kts) on the first day and almost nothing on the second. But we made the most of it and worked on heavy weather sailing techniques and challenging MOB drills in the shelter of Southampton water, followed by some spinnaker work the following day. Being the only person that weekend not part of the fastnet crew I was concerned about being an odd-one-out but from the start was made to feel completely welcome and involved equally in all of the training evolutions - so much so that I've already booked another 2 weekends with them. I would recommend Wild Spirit to anyone who is genuinely serious about learning to sail or improving their racing skills. Having been out with another solent based school, there are more luxurious options at a slower pace, but they are not half as fun both on the water and ashore!

I joined Wild Spirit for a 10 day trip during which I completed Competent Crew. Wild Spirit is a beautiful, well equipped and comfortable yacht. Paul is a very knowledgeable and competent skipper, instructor and host on board. We were a mixed crew of more experienced sailors mile building and me a novice completing competent crew. Paul is a firm and helpful leader, holding everyone onboard to high standards and ensuring a safe and supportive environment to learning, ensuring that my knowledge and skills increased steadily over the course of the trip and giving me greater responsibility as a proved my ability. I would highly recommend Wild Spirit for anyone wanting to improve their sailing skills.

Just done a "competent crew" course with Paul on Wild Spirit, Paul is a very competent and professional instructor. I cannot even if I tried find any fault with either his instruction or Wild Spirit. Very friendly atmosphere on board even though I was with 3 other students who I had never met before.

I can only recommend Wild Spirit as an outstanding opportunity to learn, sail and have fun! Paul has trained us tirelessly and has helped me tremendously to build my skills up to Yachtmaster level over the past 3 years. I will always try to return for a few trips or races if I can. Keep it going Wild Spirit!
