I've had a few things from Carrie at Vat's Eye Carving including a beautiful vertical cross containing my mums ashes which is treasured...she is extremely personable and I'm happy to call her my friend. Her work is simply stunning and amazing attention to detail on everything she does.

I first bought several of Carries stone carved letters from her workshop in 2018 when my daughter and son-in-law got engaged. Three and a half years later, having tracked Cats Eye Carving down on the internet, I have just ordered a few more. One for their beautiful new son, an IVF baby three years in the making, and for my other daughter and sons partners. Its lovely seeing the family grow and marking milestones in their lives with these beautiful handmade pieces. I was so happy to discover that Carrie was still making them and she was fantastic in helping me choose new pieces to go with ones we already had. Even though Carrie works on amazing large commissions my small request couldnt have been given more attention. This wouldnt have been the case with something mass produced and carted across oceans in a shipping container. Im looking forward to adding to our collection. Long may these wonderful creative independent businesses thrive.
