Totally let down by this architects! I wish I could justify their attitude towards their customers, towards us. Perhaps he has some kind of awful personal circumstances that might justify his complete inability to do his job effectively or communicate with us like mortal humans but without a really really good excuse, he's just a money grabbing, unprofessional, waste of everyone's time and energy. Speaking to others (the forest is a small place) we don't seem to be the first people he's messed around like this too and the google reviews would seem to back this up. We approached Jon over a year ago to help us design a home extension and some out buildings too. Throughout the meetings and initial calls he was pleasant and helpful but didn't give too much away about what he could offer. He did a survey of the house (not the garden which was still needed) and sent us over a partial for existing plans. We had planned to meet and go through some design options and take it from there. The whole process to that point was really disjointed; long delays between call backs, forgotten emails and a big lack in communication generally. It was during the first few covid lockdowns, so we gave him the benefit of any doubt. We tried to communicate and stay in touch, to plan the next phase and to finish what he started but he never returned our calls or emails. Eventually his Secretary just sent us a part bill for work carried out so far with a 'late' statement attached via email. He totally ghosted us from this point on, which is why after a few weeks all I can do is warn others of our experiance with them. We paid the bill and sent a response outlining our disagreement with what we have had so far but it has now left us with no way forward without starting all over again. Just an expense for nothing useable for any future architect and a bad taste in my mouth for any kind-looking locals who claim to be knowledgeable and humble architects. Its sad to say but I would recomend to avoid this architect at all costs. He could be the best architect in the world for all I know, I never really saw any of his work, but his ability to conduct a business, his understanding of customer loyalty and satisfaction and his ability to communicate effectively is really quite dire. All of which is very important when comissioning an architect. Sadly, FDH are not worth the extra hastle to shop locally.
