Out of the blue, we decided to go and eat out this particular Sunday. My son found this bar/restaurant and made the reservations. We arrived at an already busy restaurant. Obviously popular with the locals. Wasn't aware it had accommodation, so it was full, almost to the brim. We received a warm welcome. Offered drinks, whilst we selected our menu choices. Fortunately, our table was near the fireplace, as this was the only spot to see the boards around the surround. We ordered our food, which was very well presented. Cooked to perfection. This is definitely a nice place for a family meal. Although I was a little disappointed with the skingy portion of lamb I was served. It went further downhill from there, as we had to wait almost half an hour to see the dessert menu. Once ordered, after waiting for them to be served. Well, the cooks must have been in a hurry. These items were definitely not up to scratch. My crumble was warm at best. Others were disappointed with what was described as cookie dough. I get it. They were busy. It was nearing the end of the shift. I felt sorry for the two waitresses that were trying to get around to everyone. But even after all that, we had to wait again for the check.

We had 3 courses. The food was ok, weirdly we didnt get what we ordered. We ordered from the menu all different dishes. But I guess because it was a Sunday, we got roast versions of all the dishes instead of what was written on the board. Lamb slices with Yorkshire pudd and gravy instead of the leg of lamb we ordered. Food quality was ok though, not great but not bad.

Lovely little quaint country pub. Fabulous food and a good portion. Really nice space outside for children to play and explore. We didn't stay so I can't comment on the rooms. Food & drinks: The food was delicious and there was plenty of choice. It was fresh and remained hot. Would visit again
