It is a holiday rental that the owner has created which is a train station with a real train carriage inside it from the war. It even has a train track, ticket office and looks like it is coming out of a tunnel!
It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, sea views from your bed, steam trains nearby to see, beach within walking distance and an overall excellent location within Dungeness which is right next to the new lighthouse.
There is quirkiness everywhere inside, from the road sign that is incorporated into a step leading to the carriage to the fairy-tale like guestbook, even the platform has a real train station light.
Hafod station really comes to life at night and is really something else. The lights that light up the station and the underneath of the carriage are incredible! The attention to detail put into this place is really on another level and everything you see has something special about it!
I had a wonderful experience here and look forward to coming back.
If you are looking to stay in Dungeness you must stay here if you can!
