Held a wedding here building itself is beautiful but sadly showing it's lack of upkeep. The people who run it are very hard to communicate with and do not respond to problems. The wedding cost is way over priced for the service you get oh and a few days before my wedding they 're plastered the staircase and left it for all to comment on!! I would most definately advise against using it for a wedding venue.

I had a great experience when I attended as a stall holder, at the local crafters pop up market on 20th Nov. The Town Hall was easy to find from main access routes, nearby parking was reasonable and in easy walking distance. I agree that the building needs some decorating inside and would benefit from some fresh paint, improved flooring and yes the WCs definitely need an overhaul. But my experience was good, the other crafters I met on the ground floor were fab and the locals/visitors were super friendly. The exterior looked good and often with old buildings like this, it takes revenue to raise the funds for improvements. I would attend again

Lovely building with a beautiful big room upstairs! There's just been a new lift fitted this year too. Disabled access really couldn't be better throughout. Only issue is the WCs are run down and very much in need of redecorating (skirting board half off, damp patches on walls etc)

Recently held our Wedding Ceremony here. Communications between Enquiry/Booking/Ceremony needs to be improved. Responses to information averaged about a week to each response, in one case it was 5 weeks! Venue needs some attention. Granted, its a listed building and various applications/approvals have to be made to carry out works etc. There were areas that needed damp addressing, interior and exterior would benefit from a coat of paint, curtains that didn't function adequately when closed, Stairway needed freshening up. A shame really as this has huge potential and could be more appealing for wedding photographers and a real selling point for more events The Gentlemen who 'greeted' us.... A special mention as I appreciate they are probably volunteers but we did not feel the least bit welcome upon arrival. I was 15 mins later than planned due to our 3 year old needing an outfit change prior to arrival, being abruptly told 'you're late' and 'The registrar is waiting and won't wait no longer' is hardly the welcome I expected. The registrars were very understanding of our lateness which kind of left us on a sour note with our hosts. Some training required in people management perhaps Overall, lots of room for improvement if they are serious about marketing the Town Hall as a wedding venue. Hopefully things will improve
