Ashcroft Transmissions

I've got half shafts, front and rear 4 pin diffs and both crownwheel and pinions from Ashcrofts. High quality gear and on the one occasion (years ago now) we had what we thought was an issue with a diff, Dave took it back and checked it over without arguments. He was of course right and the problem was the propshaft. We had tried another propshaft but that just had the same issue - typical Land Rover. Dave was great about it. I will be using Ashcroft again. Looking at the CVs... Maybe the autobox will die first and he can have that...

I brought a reconditioned torque converter from Ashcroft's earlier in the year to convert my range rover from a diesel to a V8. Fitted the torque converter into my gearbox and the 4x4 drive spot on. Good quality parts for a great value for money 2500 + vat for a new torque converter from land rover, dealer only part. Having reached the age where changing gear in the Defender was proving more and more of a challenge , the only options left were a mobility scooter or an Auto box . Decided the former can wait a while longer so booked the Defender in online with Dave Ashcroft and set a date for the transplant. Eight days later all was the complete , the vehicle arriving back home to the wilds of Argyll , a totally changed beast .The installation looks great and is totally in keeping with the Defender's styling . The vehicle drives very smoothly and copes admirably with the terrain in this part of the world . I can now drive sitting comfortably smug knowing I no longer have to change gear every two minutes to get around the approaching bend or up the next mini summit !
