Decor a bit dated however could not fault the landlord and staff who went above and beyond, We booked this venue for my mother in law's wake.thank you for making a difficult day better.

A friendly bunch. Nice selection of beers, good pool table & darts. Rob the gaffer is a good crack. Watch out for Dagger though....he's always lurking about drinking the leftovers...(Joke)

THE PUB THAT TIME FORGOT If you want to experience a community pub built in the 1960s, which hasn't really changed that much since, then the Sportsman on Katherine Drive, is the pub for you. I remember going here on Sunday evenings in the early 1980s, with a friend who has since emigrated to the USA, and playing cribbage all night. There aren't any real ales but there is a good range of lagers including Red Stripe. The Sportsman has two separate bars with separate entrances. The front Lounge bar with the main entrance is purely for drinking and watching sports, while the back Saloon bar has a dart board. Many pubs have been made into one large bar, such as the Ewe and Lamb, another community pub built on this estate in the 1960s, but this simply destroyed their unique character, in my opinion. The Sportsman serves a full English breakfast until 11am each morning. With a good range of takeaways along the shopping precinct literally in front of the Sportsman, your whole night is complete, if you want to go back to how things used to be.
