We have 2 quite different! beautiful holiday accommodations at Narramore Farm; The Shepherd's Hut Dartmoor & The Rose Bower. We often have space for part-liveries, tenanted cottages;, and offer a delightful picnic service for breakfasts & lunches.

Rotten food, not covid safe, hostile host and more.. My other half booked a two night stay at Narramore Farm as a late baby moon just before Christmas. Unfortunately, we had to cut our stay short due to various issues, making the one night we stayed far from enjoyable and quite disheartening. The first issue was the non-existent Wi-Fi, we appreciate that being out in the middle of Dartmoor, you can't expect Wi-Fi like at home. However, we had a virtual NCT class on the first night, and my other half had contacted the host before booking, who assured us to at the Wi-Fi to the Shepard's hut was good. Shortly after arriving and just before the session started, we realised the Wi-Fi wasn't working, we called the host who gave a few tips, but the router outside was not connecting and the host did not attempt to help any further. The next day the router was still not working. The other major issue was finding a plastic container in the mini fridge, thinking our hosts had left us some cheese and bacon for the morning - I decided to cook the bacon. After opening the container, I realised the cheese was not only half-eaten but 2 months out of date, the bacon had started to turn bad and smelt off. This set off alarm bells as we thought, if the fridge was unclean, what else might be. We also found a red/orange stain on one of the towels supplied, as well as a saucepan with remnants of a previous meal on it. We brought these issues to the hosts attention the day after our first night. The host's (Philip) tone turned somewhat hostile quickly, telling us "what do you want me to do about the Wi-Fi, I can't just drive to curry's now and fix it can I", and "you can always hotspot can't you" - not the point Philip, we asked if the Wi-Fi was good you told us it was, it's your responsibility to ensure the Wi-Fi is functioning on the day. Also the bed is not the same as displayed on the listing, the listing clearly has a standard height bed frame, we arrived to find a 3-4-foot-high custom bed. We asked the host about this as my other half is 8 months pregnant and under 5ft 5, he told us it had recently been installed into the hut and was getting angry when told the mattress is clearly not a king size, which is what they have in the listing. Finally, I showed him the rotten food found in the fridge, the towel with a stain and the unwashed saucepan. This clearly caused the host to panic as Philip's tone changed very quickly, all of a sudden he was apologising, offering us a full refund (still not received the full amount), blaming his business partner who deals with the cleaning. Clearly no care or attention was taken, especially during times when covid is a major threat, everyone expects hosts to make sure the property is clean and up to standard - on this occasion, it was far from it. We left shortly after this, missing out on another night. After reviewing our complains and checking the images Airbnb gave us a partial refund (75%). We have contacted Philip directly since, asking whether he would stick to his word and pay the remaining amount (as he originally offered to pay the full amount himself as along as we provide our bank details), however we have received no response, he is choosing to ignore my message - lesson learnt, wouldn't recommend, which is a shame as the other reviews are clearly very positive.
