A very special pub from a time gone by. You could be in the 1920s. Great beer. Great staff. You must visit if in Ludlow.

My gosh what a fantastic pub. Like time stood still. Most amazing room upstairs with old furniture, lots of art deco, very inviting and friendly. This sort of pub with traditional ale is hard to find and typical for the West Midlands. So welcoming and cosy, we're thrilled we discovered this and will be back soon.

What a gem this place is, the decor is superb, fitted out as a victorian pub with things like serving hatch to a snug behind the bar and wood paneling with it all looking very genuine and tasteful. it is superb if you like a pub where you can go for a chat and a drink as there is no music or TV's to compete with and mobile phones are not to be used. There were three real ales, Uley Bitter and Pale as the regulars and always a guest ale on, cider and wine is also served. There are some wonderful cobs on the bar too. Met the owners who are a delight to talk too and Amanda who was serving is wonderful. Cannot wait to go back for another visit.

For fans of traditional, friendly pubs serving real ale, this is a must visit. The interior is compact and beautiful, the range of drinks is perhaps smaller than you might experience in a larger pub but quality is better than quantity. Savoury rolls can be purchased at the bar. There is a polite notice to say: 'no mobile phones' which I think helps to encourage a more sociable environment. Make sure you say hello to the pub dog!
