Weighing the good with the bad, I can speak for both sides. On one hand, my darling jack russel frequented here and took her last breath in these very walls. The best way to describe her was feral, could not be near anything unfamiliar and just a raging ball of nervous aggression. We always called ahead to prep the poor team, but Meg was always handled with respect and not stressed out. Now, I have a kitten. He's the most placid thing ever and the vets love him. He reportedly got plenty cuddles after his neutering, but a few things I had been unhappy about. One, I was charged more than I was quoted to purchase the kitten pack for him. Two, I called the vets to ask a simple question about treating a minor condition at home. The receptionist insisted I brought him in for an appointment, then when booking me she casually said "Oh, you could bring him today, in the evening? Aim for sevenish?" and I agreed. Big mistake, this made it an emergency consultation and I'm charged fifty pounds for it! The vet was the first vet that my kitten didn't like, and the vet made no attempt to assure or calm him. No hissing or anything, just hiding in my arms. I couldn't afford my bill, and the receptionist was very apathetic. When I asked to take off a relieving gel,, I was told that the point of my visit was to help my cat so it was 'pointless' to not get it him. After calling around, I was able to borrow the money, and took the medicine from the receptionist. Something good about the vet is that dogs are seperate from smaller animals, but on that particular evening, a vet decided to provoke a muzzled rottweiler, playfully letting the dog growl and bark and lunge. This was fine, but where customers line up to pay is in the dog waiting room so my kitten (who doesn't normally mind dogs) was extremely stressed and stayed in a defensive, crouched position in his carrier even when we got home, and wasn't himself for the rest of the night, clearly spooked. So, all in all, it's a good vets, but it needs more transparency with money. I get you need to make money, but if this is a transactional relationship you need to be transparent. And don't be stupid and spook clients half to death.

Went here and was quoted 250 from Lloyd for something and so I accepted that, I was told to bring him back Monday 06/03/23 at 9.30 so I did. I had to come out of work, go home, pick my dog up, take him there to be told off his wife Caroline, it's 650, because I was there and had already taken time off work I felt I had no choice. On my way home I tried to ring them because I was unhappy about it but they never answered the phone. Caroline rang me back and told me it had been done and when I explained I left a message on their answerphone she said they never got it. Shame on you ! Tell you one price and then when you go to have it done, want double. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THIS VETS !
