If it's history you are looking for this is a good start, large model of the old Beach village, all the Lowestoft journals from 1876, and you can explore the dig areas.

A wonderful gem of a place. If you are interested in social history, then you must try to find your way here. A friend mentioned the Beach Village so, as we were in the area, we tracked this super archive down. We were given a tour by a knowledgable gentleman who, with the aid of a lovely model, told us the story of the place and the people who lived here. It was fascinating to discover how the village evolved to become a town within a town, completely self-sufficient. The area was cleared, with only the "scores" leading from High Street remaining along with Christ Church. And some if the street names have survived. A bonus was the 17th century plaster ceiling that was rescued from a decaying farmhouse and now resides in one of the community rooms. No relevance to the Beach Village but just as intriguing. A brillant way to spend the morning.
