I purchased a steel fruit cage for a customer. Easy order process and delivered within the time period specified. I went with Harrod because they are a local (to me) company. I also needed some replacement fruit cage roof netting and after a quick call was waiting at the reception for me to pick up within the hour. Can't fault them. Good quality cage and easy assemble. Customer is very happy.

I was trying to find my review of the large raised bed I bought last year but couldn't find it. This is really an update on the lasting quality of the product I bought. Firstly within a very short time the timber started to shrink and gaps appeared in the planking. The timber was shrink wrapped and wet. In retrospect I should have let the timber dry out for a couple of weeks, and the company should have highlighted this. The company sent replacements with no problem but this really didn't address the problem as perhaps it should have been taken apart and rebuilt, but as it was full of soil and compost this wasn't an option. Secondly after a growing season's use - for exhibition cabbages so only three in the bed - the corner screws started to break off. This obviously caused planks to bend and come adrift and soil to fall out. I re-fixed the corners with more robust screws. Overall a poor product made with thin timber planks. Not a patch on the ones I made myself some five years ago, which unfortunately due to health reasons I am unable to build again. Overall, if you want a raised bed ---- make it yourself, don't buy one of these.

Totally gutted. Harrod Horticultural has been my go-to company because Ive always been impressed with the quality of the products and the efficiency of shipping, and usually, the helpfulness of their Customer Service team, as can be seen from my last review which I have left below. This latest order, however what a disappointment. Two weeks of empty promises and conflicting information, with me having to make numerous phone calls and send emails, only to (eventually) be told that the item Id ordered was no longer in stock and had been discontinued this, despite the assurance I was given 5 days previously that the item was in stock, was allocated to my order, and had been categorised for priority dispatch. The only solution that was offered was for me to purchase a different colour of the item Id ordered (and nothing like my original purchase) or to purchase a different colour and paint it myself using tester pots. I cant fathom how a professional company like this could expect me to achieve a proper finish using tester pots and paintbrushes when these items are ordinarily professionally sprayed. I truly am disappointed by the service I have received from a company I usually have such high regard for. It is a real shame that Harrod Horticultural has been unwilling to find a fair way forward when such a mess has been made this is just not what I would expect from such a premium company. And Im not holding my breath for the discount code I was promised by Simon a week ago either. What a shame. Previous review - 4 months ago (it was 5 stars): Very pleased again with my order from Harrod Horticultural. I purchased a Sneeboer lawn aerator, thankfully HH had this in stock so I could set to working on my lawn straight away. Sneeboer themselves had a 6-8 week delivery timescale and the price varied with a number of other stockists so HH seemed the sensible choice. Not to mention the 10% discount you get for subscribing with Gardeners World. The product arrived swiftly and well packaged. Thanks again.
