Absolutely wonderful service. I live out of area but arranged an order for my friend. Lucy went over and above to ensure the items were received. Photos of the food looks amazing.

Disaster! I came to the Southwold popup after ordering by phone. I ordered their signature North Sea sourdough and a savoury scroll. On receiving it I noted it was very light for its size, it was hard to slice because it was mostly air, the crumb had no real structure to it, not elastic and fully developed, I found it extremely open. I weighed it and found it was about 450g. So 3.50 for 450g. Meanwhile a house sour from a Hackney bakery gets you 800g at 4 pounds. Onto the scroll .... The moment I put it into my mouth I was overwhelmed with that salty sour strong olive tapenade taste that I coughed instinctively...I actually couldn't finish it. Usually I avoid these olive pesto type buns. There was a comma left between the words olive and pesto in the description, which I had missed. Meanwhile in Nice, I love a baker who makes green olive bread sticks, (no pesto) that are amazing. Why UK bakeries are expensive compared to French or even London is unknown. (Visited in July)
