The salon was freezing cold, the water kept switching from freezing cold to boiling hot and they burned my head with the hairdryer. I have fine, delicate hair that knots easily and the hairdressers there very roughly tugged and combed at it from the root rather than working up gently from the bottom to get the knots out. They did not offer to use detangling spray or heat protection and seemed to pay no mind to maintaining the health of my hair. I had extensions put in but the colour didn't match at all and the tapes were put too high up in my fine hair so they showed through. The lighting in the salon is quite dark so you can't really see properly how your hair looks and pick up any issues until after you've left the salon. When I went back to get them taken out, the whole process was extremely painful as my hair was once again being tugged, pulled and hacked at with a comb. My scalp still hurts weeks later and I was unable to have them refitted at the time because it was so sore. Afterwards, I was assured my hair only looked thinner because I was just used to having extensions in but upon comparing to previous pictures of myself it is very clear I have lost a lot of hair. I had to have 3 inches cut off because it was so thin from all the breakage and it still looks bad. I'm absolutely gutted because it all cost hundreds of pounds. I hadn't been to get my hair done for 2 years because of the pandemic but had spent that time really looking after and growing my hair and just wanted some volume added but ended up with short, thin, damaged hair and a sore scalp.
