We had a lovely family visit to Worcester this morning, on the way home my 20 year old daughter noticed the signs for the farm shop and asked if we could stop and have a look. She took a basket, put a few items in it and then joined the queue while I nosed at the beers. There were two ladies on the tills, an older lady was serving a lady and gentleman who both had baskets on her counter and the younger lady was serving another couple. The younger lady serving then asked who was next and seeing my daughter next in line beckoned her forwards but as my daughter stepped towards the till the older lady serving intervened and loudly said no serve this gentleman first referring to the man who had his basket on her till. My daughter stepped back and waited. Not a problem but the older lady then continued to chat loudly to her customer saying that she didnt care and wasnt having people pushing in, then looking at my daughter saying well if they dont like it then they can leave. My daughter wouldnt say boo to a goose and fortunately I was out of earshot otherwise I wouldnt be writing this review and you would have known my feelings quite clearly! How can somebody in a customer facing environment clearly not only misread a situation but also have so little disdain for the customer that they would talk about them like that? What she did was tantamount to bullying, my daughter was actually really upset by the experience and its put her off going to any future farm shops that she hasnt previously visited. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour from a staff member and we will take her up on her suggestion and not only leave but never return to visit again.
