There is a small rear seating area outside in the carpark too, which would be nice in the summer. The carpark is quite small, if you can get a space you'll be lucky. There is however Lound Pond just outside the front of the pub and parking all along the road is always available.
There is wheelchair accessible doorways and there is space to move around inside using one also.
There is a wide selection of drinks on offer and also food.
The pricing is nearing on the steeper side but the food is well cooked and presented nicely. The photos attached are of the southern fried chicken with chips and salted caramel cheesecake with popcorn. The popcorn was very unnecessary for the dessert and I ended up leaving it. The chicken was nicely cooked as were the chips. My friends who were with me couldn't complain about their dishes either.
The inside of the Village Maid was clean and tidy. There were an array of customers all in different age ranges.
The service however, was lacking, the food took a long while to come out so much so we thought they had forgotten about us and when we did receive it there was no apology for how long we had waited. The person serving us didn't smile either and towards the end we felt like we were being rushed out even though there was still 45mins until closing time.
We visited on a Thursday eve, so we were confused as to why food took so long as there weren't that many people eating, mainly social drinking.
I would visit again, hoping that it would be better a second time.
I would advise booking a table, if there are more than 2 of you. The tables were mostly set up for couples.
All in all a nice place to eat and drink.
