I just visited Lound Hall for the first time at Christmas. My grandfather ended up with dementia earlier in 2022 and my mom flew over to England (from America) and visited and met with staff at over 10 different nursing homes. She knew from the beginning that there was something different about Lound Hall. I trusted my mom fully, but when I got to experience the home as well as the staff over Christmas, I was blown away by their authenticity and true passion for what they do. Everyone has been great with my grandad but in particular, Andy was fantastic with the events he put on as well as making sure the residents were smiling and happy, Marty and Janice clearly cared deeply about all of the residents and had a special bond with my grandad. You could just tell that every staff that interacted with my grandad knew all of his quirks and personality traits. They werent just there to work and go home. They truly cared about each and everyone one of the residents. Its been hard living in America and being so far away from my grandad who I love so dearly, but I couldnt feel more comfortable about where he is staying and the people who are taking care of him. He is in the best possible hands. Thank you to everyone at Lound Hall!

We researched several residential care homes in the Retford area after reaching the decision that my father needed more care than we could give him. Diagnosed with dementia several years ago, his care needs had become unmanageable for my mother and we were more than satisfied that Lound Hall could adequately and comfortably provide for him. On our initial visits, the home was clean, well managed and staffed by caring and professional individuals. Sadly, my father's condition deteriorated so rapidly that he was taken into Lound Hall a few months before we had planned. And here is where the staff at Lound Hall proved that we had made the right decision. In a moment of crisis for our family, the management and carers stepped up immediately to transition my father into the home and, ultimately, to provide for him in (what turned out to be) end of life care. We cannot fault the team at Lound Hall in any way and, as a family, we are so grateful that we found them. In a stressful and difficult few weeks, we were able to take great comfort in the extraordinary care they gave our father (and us). And it has meant such a lot to us that they took the care and trouble to treat him as the much loved family member that he was. We would have no reservations in recommending this care home to anyone who is considering nursing care for their loved ones. We all only ever want to make sure our family are looked after as we would like to be ourselves and Lound Hall will definitely do that.
