My Mother In Law was in Mellows for 12 weeks, STOP think before sending your love ones there. The care from the day staff was very good, the evening staff seem to be all agency staff and had no respect for the patients, and several times shouted at her to stop pressing buzzer as she needed to the toilet, she didn't suffer with dementia, and was very on ball, she refused to wear an inconvenience pad and for this reason, and this reason alone they said they couldn't cope with her needs. Yes she was severely disabled and had to stay in bed all day due to the room being so small they couldn't fit her recliner chair that she needed to make her life more comfortable, but this was the reason she needed a home she needed help getting in and out bed and to toilet, getting dressed, but thank goodness Social Care helped us get her into a wonderful care home a five star hotel, instead of the rabbit hutch she was living in. She is now fed 3 times a day very nice food instead of being forgotten as she didn't go downstairs to the dining room, and when they did finally remember her they had ran out of soup on a few occasions, her afternoon cup tea was often missed little things that make life so much happier for the elderly, and of course family knowing she is being cared for so well now is one big relief.

My dad was put here after leaving hospital in February. I must say the staff are wonderful and always kept my dad clean which is a challenge. But I was disappointed with management who decided my dads needs were too much for them and made us move. My dad is extremely poorly and was told to move when he was extremely ill and at his weakest. He has gone downhill rapidly in the last month. His new home is appauled with his condition. Very sad and dosappointed.
