Traps Hill Surgery

I am not sure about the other reviews , I think it was a very pleasant experience to visit our new local surgery yesterday. I called for an apoitment and got seen with in a few hours. The receptionist staff where all very pleasant and the doctor was very good with the kids. Very fortunate to have a surgery like this near us.

Extremely difficult to get an appointment. Last time I rang I was told by the doctor that I had to be there within 15mins because he was finishing for the day.

At the start of January the doctor had referred me to the hospital for an Endoscopy and told me I would get a letter sent to me. A few weeks passed and I received no letter so I phoned in and spoke with what sounded like an older lady at reception who said you will either get a phone call or a letter soon from the hospital and they confirmed I had been referred. Phoned in again today as I have still not heard anything back, to find out the referral was never actually made in the first place. I understand mistakes can happen but how is it possible I phone in to confirm a referral has been made and the receptionist has not noticed that it hasn't. Honestly so poor and a bit worrying that I had to phone in a second time to find this out, but good thing I did otherwise I'd be waiting around for nothing.

The appointment system is not working. When you ring at 8am you are on the line for 40 mins, only to be told there are no appointments available and to ring back at 2pm. When you ring back at 2pm it is the same. The receptionist then advises you to call 111.

I called the Surgery at 8AM today to get an appointment for my wife, who has been ill for over a week with a persistent and painful cough and sore throat, and who had breathing difficulties during the night. After having waiting for nearly 30 minutes, I was told that they are fully booked, and to call back at 2PM, which I did. Even though I called a minute or so to 2PM, I was told once again that they are fully booked, which is hard to believe to say the least, since having called as requested at 2PM or a minute or so earlier, it beggars belief that all the appointments were booked within a matter of a few minutes. One can only speculate as to what is going on with the booking of appointments at this Surgery, and pity the suffering masses of this country, for the pitiful level of public health service offered by a so called rich and developed country!
