Myself and other family members could not praise Helen and Dilesh highly enough. A huge thank you for the support given throughout to a young family member battling alcohol addiction. He is now 3 months alcohol free and going strong on his road to recovery, something that would not have been possible without the support of Turning Point.

The staff had never even heard of the drug I have a problem with (very common USA) and treated me as if I was pathetic for being addicted to it and not worthy of their time. I had spent my whole adult life in full time employment, paying my taxes and finally admitted I needed help - was referred to turning point from GP. Completely let down at such a critical point and ended up feeling even more depressed and suicidal as a result. A couple of the ladies there seemed really friendly and put my mind at ease but it went rapidly down hill once my appointment began. Avoid unless you want to feel worthless. Am available for more specific details if requested; cannot disclose on here as a formal complaint is being investigated.

Phone is regularly not answered, direct questions not answered, emails not replied to, letters not replied to, SOME (not all) staff are UN-professional, discriminatory, uncaring, inconsistent, vindictive, threatening, have little to no knowledge of patients with mental health/addiction problems (and it can be argued are in fact the cause of mental health problems), are purposefully ignorant, evasive and disbelieving. To quote a REAL professional from RELEASE "it is a wonder how they (Loughborough Office) got the contract." If the Loughborough Office is the norm, then "treatment" options in the UK are sadly and evidently falling well behind other more progressive Countries.
