As the funeral was at the natural burial ground we were pleased to be guided to the grave side then left to carry out our own service. The only thing that in retrospect we would have changed would be for the coffin to be lowered into the grave at the start rather than at the end. It was explained that this was a health and safety precaution to stop anyone falling in. With respect I believe it should be the family who decide such a thing and ensure safety measures are taken.
