We stayed before a wedding at the Castle. Rooms were spotlessly clean with lovely fluffy towels, but the rooms were not serviced for the next second night. Breakfast was nice, but not a lot of choice, no pudding, no hash brown, the sausage was a little thin one, would have expected a thick farm sausage! The main issue was the mattress. VERY thin and had to move myself around until I found a spot without springs sticking in to me. The shower had very very little pressure, was tough to wash shampoo out! The honesty bar is a lovely idea and the morning staff were very friendly and attentive. I wouldn't stay again because my sleep was so poor due to the terrible mattress, which is a shame because it was a lovely little break away.

Lovely breakfast. Room was OK although the place was quite noisy and had a ground floor room so could hear every noise and word from the room above. Well stocked honesty bar although for the price paid I would have expected a bartender or similar. The rooms weren't made up overnight or restocked with coffee/milk etc. No WiFi and very limited signal so prepare the kids for no phones for the stay.

Room was ok, but for the price (97pn) we expected more. Pros: Nice barn conversion, nice and warm with the underfloor heating, free parking and close proximity to Rowton Castle if attending a wedding which we were. Price included breakfast. Staff seemed friendly, especially the lady doing breakfast. Cons: Walls are very thin, you can hear everything - we could hear the conversation the people in the next room were having. Bed was extremely uncomfortable, the mattress is in need of an upgrade as you could feel every spring. Shower was the worst I'd had in a long time, pressure nonexistent, so you could barely get wet, let alone wash your hair etc... Breakfast, this was nice but basic. They also (we felt) made it harder on themselves with you having to pre-order everything the night before, down to whether you wanted water on your table. This also meant it was very slow. They could improve this by having a selection of cereals, yogurts, juices etc...on a sideboard for people to help themselves and just asking for cooked breakfast requirements and tea/coffee. Think the price reflects the fact they can capitalise on the castle being there and having weddings, but hopefully they review feedback and make suggested amendments. I wouldn't stay again, but it was fine for what it was and attending a wedding at the castle.
