Steve Hayward at form:form architects designed a kitchen extension for us in 2018 which has changed our style of living style completely! We now spend all our time in the kitchen with it's large south facing patio doors. We'd recommend Steve without question and in fact we've now returned to Steve for another renovation project which he's currently designing! Thank you Steve!!

This has been a painful and wasteful process from start to finish. Each stage went over promised schedule. When we voiced concerns that the initial quote that came back (before technical drawings stage) was 25K over budget, Steve dismissed our concerns saying at this stage builders always over estimated the costs. When we finally got our precise tender quotes back some were 100% over our initial budget (100K vs our 47K) and the others were also way off! Our fears were correct, we couldn't afford the extension and would only be able to afford an internal remodel. Steve refused to do the re-design work unless we paid him more, citing an increase in building materials for the high quotes rather than his unrealistic design. Builders we spoke to said that inflation had only caused 15-20% increase in materials and wages. We also paid him to help us with material choices- Steve sent two links to materials and arranged for one sample to be sent to us. He also wouldn't give us the full drawings for us to take elsewhere to a cheaper architect to fix the mess unless we agreed not to take any legal or regulatory action, which we were unwilling to do. We have wasted 6000 on Steve alone and 18 months on designs we couldn't afford to get made. Two years on from starting this process we have had to use another architect and are only just about to start the build of a minor home renovation. It has been a stressful and wasteful experience we would not wish on anyone.
