The parish church of St. Nicholas is in the beautiful winding, linear village of Longparish set on the world-renowned River Test. St. Nicholas was built in the early 13th century and holds a service every Sunday of the month. The building is grade 1 listed and is open everyday to visitors to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the church. It has a small car parking area and many walks are available from its splendid location. The church has a very rich history and is one of the finest village churches I have ever been to. Some of the heritage highlights include: a Medieval pedestal piscina, a peculiar 'Easter Sepulchre' monument, the Widmore family memorial of 1754 and delightful 19th century stained glass windows throughout the church. The organ looked stunning with its fabulously painted pipes and overall, it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
