Fantastic. Very dog friendly! Arrived to check in and was greeted by Dave who warmly welcomed us and showed us straight to our room. Our room had a separate bathroom down the hall that had a large bath and separate shower and was beautifully decorated. We had pre booked our tea and it was to a very high standard, creamy mushrooms to start followed by slow cooked beef and cherry chocolate mouse which was so good I forgot to take any pictures of it. Not your average pub grub thats for sure and a couple who also staying there had been out for tea and when they returned they said they wished they had stayed as the place the chose to eat instead was very substandard. Having had tea theres a cozy communal lounge with an honesty bar that you can help yourself to and put drinks down to your room. It was nice to enjoy the company of the other guests for an hour or so before bed. The heating was great lovely and warm room. Peaceful and quiet. Cassie got her own sausage in a bowl for breakfast which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was delicious not your average greasy plate of foot with yogurt and cereals on offer aswell as kippers. So good that cass didnt want to leave. Thank you for a loveley stay

Everything was just right at The Old Rectory. From the moment we arrived and were welcomed by Dave. The room and the food totally brilliant. We stayed four nights in the Rose room. Every small detail was well thought out, and the whole experience was lovely. Nice to have good linen, china and home made items on the breakfast table. We found lots to do in the area, Howick Hall gardens worth a visit, Alnwick of course, beaches and walking in the area all lovely. Bus trip good to Berwick, a most interesting town. Jude was so kind to make us a packed breakfast because we had to leave early on the last morning, so we send grateful thanks.
