Brushstroke Makeup School (Longcross) South London

I joined the 7month ITEC course wanting to retrain after a career as a dancer and learn more about the world of wigs and stage make up.I hoped this course would give me the skills and confidence to apply for wigs, hair and make up jobs in the westend. I couldn't have asked for a better course. The teachers are all brilliant at what they do. They are passionate and love teaching as well as having first-hand experience in the industry. I felt encouraged and inspired throughout my course. I embraced all of the new things I learned in the fashion, bridal and SFX modules also. 1 month after leaving Brushstroke, I was offered a summer position at Kilworth House Theatre on the Nick Wintson's productions of Carousel and Half a Sixpence where I was Head of Wigs Department. Currently, I am a WHAM artist on the latest Secret Cinema production of Guardians of the Galaxy. I would not be where I am now, and working at such a high level if it wasn't for the support of the teachers and management at Brushstroke. There are a few things that I need more practice with and I look forward to getting a chance to return to class and brush up on some of those things and catch up with everyone.

I have just finished the 2 year course at brushstroke and have loved every minute of it. As a result of the excellent and thorough training I was able to work as a trainee on a Netflix series a few weeks before I had even finished the course! I would highly recommend Brushstroke as you not only learn everything you need, to succeed in the industry but make great friends along the way as well!!

What great a school, my daughter Emily learnt so much in 2 years and now signed up for the 3rd year as a parent I would highly recommend brushstrokes, its not just a Academy where you learn but more of a family where you are helped to be your best and most of all the staff are like family and help you along the journey thank you brushstrokes and I would highly recommend brushstrokes

I highly recommend anyone who is thinking of joining brushstrokes and looking to get into the professional hair and makeup industry. I did the 2 year media hair and makeup course and followed on and did the 1 year hairdressing and barbering course. I learnt a great deal which has set me in the right direction as I start to work in the industry. All the tutors have great knowledge and have worked in the industry for years so you are learning from the best!

I completed the 2 Year Makeup and Hair course and I am now currently doing the 1 Year Hairdressing and Barbering course at Longcross Studios. I have made very good friends at the college. In my second year I was given a days work experience at Pinewood Studios and from working that one day and meeting the team, I have since been directly asked by them if I could come back and work with them again, I have worked with them 5 times now.
