No comment on the rooms as live locally. My husband and l have visited the bar - restaurant on a number occasions over the winter for a drink or meal. The last time for special birthday in the last few days. Overall the evening was perfect with all the boxes ticked, good food and service, but again, the open fire was dead on arrival meaning sitting in my winter coat for most of the evening. I did note other people's disappointment on arriving excepting a warm open fire (on a cold gloomy evening) to be presented with dead wood in the fire pit that had clearly been left.

They kindly did fit us in very last minute on Easter Sunday after our lunch booking elsewhere was cancelled. There were no vegan options on the menu that day, which was a surprise, and a shame. However, they created something from their usual menu for me and it was delicious, especially the spiced bean cake for starters, which had a kind of tasty, light, tempura batter. The rest of my party all enjoyed their meals too. Would recommend but also request some more veggie/ vegan options

Together with 2 friends, we went for Sunday roast. Lively hotel, nice and cosy. All the front of house team exceptionally well turned out and professional. Roaste all round top quality neat cooked perfectly. Extra veg asked for and provided with no extra cost. Sweet was a delight Orange Marmalade sponge with top quality ice cream. Glasses are spotless and clearly all very closely monitored. Def is worth a visit.
