Theres a patch of grass, water fountains and many benches to sit on.
Although the square isnt all that big, its a small break away from its concrete surrounds and makes for a great lunch spot or a peaceful spot to sit.
Until May 2023, Aldgate Square is also home to a work of art by Jocelyn McGregor called Earthlings.
Located between the square and St Botolph's church, the snail sculptures each feature a shell and human limb instead of their usual slimy body.
The snails cause you to slow down as you pass and its encouraged to perch beside one so its okay to let children explore them. After May 2023, a piece by Emii Alrai will replace the snails.
Nearby, theres also a variety of coffee shops and Aldgate underground station.
