I was having a problem with a classical guitar I'd had for 30 plus years. I hadn't played it for a while and noticed dead spots on the fretboard and buzzing in other places. John explained what he thought was the problem and offered his solution which was a fret dress. The guitar sounds great at the moment. It took much less time to fix than anticipated and I am really pleased with the way the guitar sounds and plays. Great value for money!

I used this luthiers service to wire an electric guitar's pickup, toggle and volume/gain control a few years back. The guitar seemed to work ok, the luthier also seemed friendly. (I'm not a professional with guitar wiring or how they should be set up so wouldn't be likely to notice incorrect wiring and such). But I recently sold it to someone that's more knowledgeable than myself in guitar setups or their wiring, I believe they renovate guitars. They found a number of issues unfortunately with the electrical wiring, this was their message: "Item received O/K thank you; however, in your listing you state that it was wired up by a luthior, may I respectfully suggest that you find yourself an alternative luthior who knows what he/she is doing. The 3-way switch was wired up for on or off, whereas even with just the one pickup it should be on in two of the positions. Both the tone control and the volume control acted as volume controls, I had to swap out the whole harness and associated controls; this was not planned for regarding both time and cost! Ray" I can't weigh in too much based on my own knowledge, but this was unfortunate to hear from the buyer as I always try to be thorough and honest when selling. Edit: Hello, I appreciate the response below. The guitar mainly sat on the wall as a spare, the few times when used were acoustically so I wouldn't have noticed a lack of tone control over time. From a quick test upon getting it back I didn't notice any issues at that time. If there was a fault it'd need to have been used regularly with an amp to detect. It's a shame this happened, but mistakes can happen and I'm sure you'd have remedied the fault as seemed friendly. Regards

I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked into their shop, I knew I was in good hands. The technician, John, was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain the repairs that my guitar needed in great detail. He was also very friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. The work that was done on my guitar was top-notch. John was meticulous in his attention to detail and took great care in ensuring that my guitar was returned to its optimal condition. The sound of my guitar was better than ever before and the playability was greatly improved. In addition to the excellent work, I was also impressed with the turnaround time. He provided me with details and updates as the repair was being done asking questions to ensure I was getting what I wanted. John was able to give me detailed on what needed to be done and the cost was very reasonable. Overall, I highly recommend John Procters luthier service for anyone in need of repair or maintenance services for their stringed instruments. The level of expertise, customer service and the quality of work provided were outstanding.
