Sam at the Farringdon branch is a legend. Professional, efficient, friendly did a quick fix for me without quibble, which is a lot more than can be said for another Timpsons branch, which shall remain unmentioned! Recommended and would definitely pop in again.

Dont know if the guy at the shop yesterday was Sam or not but...Firstly, when I popped into the shop I saw he was on the phone so I stood and waited a couple of minutes. He was facing the direction of the customer, so he couldn't have missed seeing me standing there. All it needed was for him to just acknowledge my presence - I wasn't particularly expecting him to end the phone call just because I was there. It could have been anything on the other end of the line - but the least he could do was just acknowledge my presence. He did not! I waited a few more minutes and then decided to go. However, because I still had a fair walk ahead of me, and I really needed to get the heel on my shoe fixed, I went back. I asked if he was working and able to fix the shoe. I also mentioned that I thought he could have at least acknowledged my presence earlier. His excuse was that he was talking to his customer. I said I accepted that but that he could still have acknowledged my presence - after all, I hadn't just come off the road to pop in the shop for the fun of it, right? He still insisted that he was talking to his customer in a very shirty manner. I let that slide and asked him to fix the heel which he went ahead and did. Okay, so he fixed the heels on my shoes only for the previously faulty heel to come off by the time I had walked 5 minutes to my meeting venue!!!!! 11 for such shoddy service!!! I could go into other aspects of this encounter, but will not. Timpsons say they employ people for their personality.... hmmm, not sure about this guy... Anyway, I just had to say something about him.... I have been a Timpsons customer for more years than I can remember and patronise the Waltham Cross branch all time. Amazing gentleman there, real master craftsman who has this morning fixed both heels for me even the other one was badly done! (at no cost at all) and commented that the work was very poorly done and not their standard at all. Top man he is! Wondering now if this was deliberate!!!!??? To the guy at Farringdon - shame on you for giving this bad representation of Timpsons!! One star only because I cant send the post without one...No stars my preference.
