Can't fault the staff downstairs and the care my Dad was given but sadly due to covid his needs weren't met in my opinion, more so when he was discharged from Hospital and then placed upstairs. The care wasn't given that I see, he was alone as bedridden and wasn't given the right foods which should have been Pured, as he had no teeth due to his false ones going missing, it wasn't rocket science! Many times we asked for a dentist to visit but was left too late. He choked on food when he was being fed as couldn't chew. His mat that was there to protect him if he fell out if bed was stuck under the bed absolutely filthy, sticky and I had to literally yank and peel it of the floor to get it unstuck from floor. He was left messy in his bed and we had to walk in on a visit to see my poor Dad like that and when we asked the nurse to clean my Dad she was more bothered that we had come for a visit at lunchtime. When my Dad sadly passed away in November 21 he was alone and my Mum and brother had been up to see him that morning but were not told that he may pass that day, we could have had the chance to be with him, surely if your nurses are trained for end of life they would know the signs? We had too endure a nasty phone call from someone who's English and manner was not appropriate and was so blunt and rude that no one should be making those kinda calls without empathy or sympathy, it was so heartbreaking and unnecessary the shock was and is unforgettable. Personally you need to re-educate your staff on how to tell a loved one they're family member has passed, even better would be to keep a eye on them and let family know that end of life is near. After such a devastating experience I could not recommend this so called care home and it breaks my heart to know my Dad wasn't cared for before he passed. It's unfair on the staff that did downstairs and do care to have to write this review.

Attended the care home for domiciliary visits. Staff are friendly, helpful and genuinely care for the residents well being. Chloe in particular helped make the day run smoothly so that we could see as many residents as possible. Due to the nature of our work, we attend a lot of care homes, and this one definitely ranks highly in terms of staff and resident care
