Buchanan Court, I have been mainly happy with my husband's care. When I did have an issue and complained directly to Care UK they dealt with it. Can't say fairer than that. The home is clean, the rooms are big and bright most of the staff friendly and welcoming. Would I recommend it, yes, I would. My husband was transferred to this home from one where he was not cared for it was a great relief to get him in. Obviously, you would need to see for yourself but it certainly worth a visit and talking to staff. I am happy with my husband's care.

My names jamie watts I work for Buchanan for 8 months The staff there 20% are good and the rest are there for a pay check ! If your reliatives or friends cant walk they WILL LEAVE THEM IN BED FOREVER! They will eat there breakfasts and leave you loved ones in soiled beds and cloths They will ignore residents screaming in pain and laugh rather then give them the medication they so desperately need They fired me as I had seen enough and shouted at staff about this but they would rather keep staff who leave people should them keep the ones who have a problem with it Management is a joke beyond all belief no support to familys or staff ! I cant stress enough if you are thinking of choosing Buchanan speak to other familys about the place not the management the will trick you into keeping your loved ones there thinking its great but reality is there is no care with the worst food you will EVER see

My mother was sent here for respite care from NPH after a brief illness a year ago. Whilst initially I was happy with the decision, turned out to be the worst scenario as my mother declined from the moment of arrival, with the care home hiding behind Covid rules. No visiting. By the time I was allowed to visit, her decline was dramatic and should have been re-admitted to NWP for professional care imo. The medical support was non existent when required with the allocated GP refusing to visit my mother and dismissing of concerns. A carer eventually raised her concerns privately and my mother was re-admitted to NPH. Personal valuable items, clothing and money were mislaid with the blame placed on my mother. (Apparently old people throw money and valuables in the bin! My mother didnt have any signs of dementia) No itinerary of my mothers valuables were taken on her admission to Buchanan. This I was later informed is apparently the responsibility of myself, even though not allowed to play any part in her admission. (Covid rules again). Whilst there were a couple of staff who genuinely cared, some left a lot to be desired. Particularly the night staff. I could go into details regarding instances, but feel best left out of this review. Complaints and concerns were dismissed. I would strongly question whether this care home is suitable for your loved ones needs. Whilst on the surface everything looks lovely, would say, dont judge the book by its cover. I believe this review to be a true and fair representation of my experience of Buchanan Court care home.
