Barchester - Derham House Care Home

The care at Derham House is superb. Staff works well and are very pleasant. Visitors are always welcome and are often grated by their name. Organised and pleasant events and all visitors are welcome. Congratulations to the management as everything is put together, with great attention to all details.

Our mum (Margaret) has been a resident here for over a year now and we couldnt be happier with the care that she gets. The staff are excellent and you can tell that they have a real passion for caring. Derham house really feels like a home.

Unfortunately my mother spent 2weeks restbite in this care home and had a terrible experience . It may look nice and given all the spill at the start but dont be fooled. The reviews are not always a true reflection and most are from staff or entainers who work there. Costs an absolute fortune but yet I still had to phone and remind them to wash my mums hair . Items of clothing went missing. Lack of communication no proper handover on exit and they call themselves professional . We had to be mind readers that they was in a meeting. But to top that my mum apparently caused her own bruising. They Take advantage of vulnerable people who cant talk for themselves especially those with Alzheimers Dont touch with a barge pole

A beautiful care home in a stunning location. There is a lovely welcoming team at Derham House who are genuinely interested in the people who reside there. They are committed to ensuring that the people have everything that they need and want.
