A friend wanted to treat me for my 70th birthday. Firstly the good things. The setting is beautiful even in spite if relentless rain. We ordered cocktails, which despite taking an inordinate time to come, and the restaurant was empty, were the best thing about the whole experience. Two of us ordered moules marinier. These were by far the worst mussels I have ever experienced. Slimey, tasteless and they stuck to the shells. The broth obviously had no garlic or wine. At 18 a pop, very disappointing. Neither of us could eat more than a third and were thoroughly put off. However, the waiter 'persuaded' us to have starter portions of the risotto. It was far from the best I've had, but was OK. Most disappointing was when the bill arrived they charged for the risottos. I thought as an act of good faith they may have waived the charge for these as we had been so disappointed by our first choices. Or perhaps given us our drinks. Suffice to say, we shall not be returning.

Word of warning !!!!! This restaurant allows dogs in ( not guide or hearing dogs ) just usual household pets ..... Also some of the waiting staff are condescending ... The dogs thing is a particular issue , not my thing in a restaurant especially when the dog is allowed to roam..
