A friendly shop that stocks a large variety of kits, paints and accessories; perfect for the advanced modeller. Near to the museum so worth a visit on a day trip or even stand alone

Hannants have been around for years and have both physical locations as well as an excellent online presence with thousands of products from hundreds of international suppliers. The shop I visit when traveling to London is the one next door to RAF Hendon. It is one of the rare gems nowadays, as in it is your typical old fashioned grass roots model shop where you can wander around and physically pick things up, look in the boxes, smell the paint and experience the thrill of coming across something you had never seen before. A vast selection of model kits including planes, military vehicles, figures, boats, cars and science fiction models. There are a great variety of paints, glues, brushes, air brushes, specialist products including metal pastes, a selection of diorama making accessories and lots, lots more. Staff are very knowledgeable and happy to share their modeling expertise and point you in the right direction. The Colindale model shops allow you to order online and your order be sent to the model shop to be picked up. Recommended and a great way to spend an afternoon visiting the RAF Museum and then walk a short distance to the Hannants model shop and purchase models of those real life planes you have just seen.
