Wow, it sounds like Mr Cheeseman's manners have dramatically improved. I took a taiji class with him years ago (near Catford/Hither Green) as a beginner, and he felt it appropriate to repeatedly make fun of me in front of the class. 'You're as graceful as a bear' I remember his comment and the guys next to me laughing which of course only encouraged him to carry on.... That went on for quite a while, he even went as far as mimicking what I looked like.... At some point I said 'in your own time, when you're finished making fun of me...' - which fell on deaf ears as he was only interested in his audience of laughing blokes. I might not have been graceful, but I wanted to learn. I did learn something there, albeit not what I thought I would, but rather, that I would never give my money to someone who thinks it appropriate to ridicule their students, and that should someone do this to me or someone else in front of me, they would know that I might not be graceful, but I can breather fire and will burn them to a crisp! As a teacher, he certainly had his 'favourite' whom he spent his time instructing, and those he had obviously decided were worth nothing he'd let them be shown what to do by people who'd attended one of two weeks more than them.... So ultimately, I paid to be taught by people who had two weeks of knowledge of taiji.... I am glad I found this so I can at last, and at least, let him know that his attitude towards me was not OK and that I have not forgotten this humiliating experience yet.

This is a real friendly class to belong to and I didn't realise there was so much to tai chi - self defence, meditation, weapons training and so much more
