Walkability: In great walking distance from Tower Hill and Aldgate east stations. Able to walk to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge from the hotel.

Some unpleasant staff Very old dcor in room (drawers/wardrobe broken and not able to use. Very dirty (Bathroom hadn't been cleaned, black in the shower). Extremely noisy (workmen outside and in the hotel) A fire alarm went off at 8am waking everyone up, but there was no organisation around this and I was only one of 3 people who made their way to reception. (worries me that in an actual scenario, they are not prepared. The ramp to the lifts was not sturdy and unsafe to walk down with no banister. Smell of cannabis all through the night Difficult to get to with roads closed around the hotel. No blinds in the room and I was directly opposite workpersons in the building 6ft away, meaning I had to keep the curtains shut the whole time. (Was dark as some lights were not working in the room) No plugs/lights near bed and one had to keep switching appliances so you could use them. Couldn't report this to anyone as the staff left reception in the afternoon and did not open again until the morning. When I checked out, there was nobody there either, other than one preoccupied lady speaking with a work person. Safety: A fire alarm went off at 8am waking everyone up, but there was no organisation around this and I was only one of 3 people who made their way to reception. (worries me that in an actual scenario, they are not prepared.
