I visited the Leonardo with my friend Emmanuel Ray last week. The gym is on the small side, but well-equipped and well-organised.The spa area is really first class: modern, spacious and extremely clean, with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, as well as an impressively large swimming pool. The staff were most attentive and friendly, and the other great thing, so far as I was concerned, is that both gym and spa were very quiet and tranquil. The Leonardo provides a pleasing, relaxing and relatively inexpensive alternative to the usual Fitness First/Pure Gym model, and is definitely worth trying out.

Complimentary fresh juices, tea, coffee etc in the spa, and there's also fresh fruit on offer! The pool is large, although I don't see the need for the large fountain-type feature. Sometimes irritating to swim past it! The locker system is archaic. There's nothing more irritating than having to carry one's locker key around. The safety pin feature would also ruin the fabric of whatever gym wear or swim wear you are wearing. As for swimming, there's the issue of having to keep the key with you. This is the one thing that I really don't like about this place. The management should have thought about customer convenience while refurbishing. A padlock system with a code would have been the easiest option. Or whatever other option that doesn't require the customer to carry their key around. The steam room sometimes suddenly gets too hot. I have no idea why. So I had to pop out, have water, then come back. The bucket that hangs on the wall with which ones dumps cold water on oneself is a good idea. One of the showers next to the jacuzzi is almost impossible to use due to its gimmicky features. The sales manager agreed that its a bit tricky. They should sort this out. The showers in the locker room should have been changed too. It is impossible to have a shower without getting one's hair wet. Washing your hair every day (given that you go to the gym daily, like I do), strips off the natural oils on one's scalp and will also weaken one's hair follicles. If the shower head can be moved away from one's body or one can have a shower in a position without getting one's hair wet (if one doesn't want to), that would have been the perfect option. A shower head with hose, which one could hold or move around would have been the best idea. Or at least a shower fixed on the wall instead of on top on the cubicle. The water doesn't get too cold when one wants it to. I always finish with a cold rinse, but it wasn't cold enough. There's only 1 toilet and 2 urinals in the men's locker room. I wonder if it is the same in the women's? I haven't had to wait in a queue but I wonder how it would be during peak hours and busy times. The hair & body wash, conditioner and lotion should definitely be replaced with products of better quality. The conditioner seems watered down! Isn't creamy enough for a conditioner and one's hair still feel dry after using it. The products certainly don't match the standard of the hotel so the management should look in to this. If you oversee the negative aspects, then you'll certainly have a wonderful time here. I've never felt that the place was too crowded. The health club is pretty relaxing. The gym could do with more equipment and a bit of modernising, but I guess space restrictions might be an issue. However, overall, the place is pretty spacious and one doesn't feel cramped. The staff are nice, facilities are good (although there's room for improvement) and it's good value for money. I have even been given 2 free (1 day) passes which I've handed to my neighbours, and one can also take a guest for 15 entrance fee. So I will be taking 3 other neighbours too. Living nearby, I can walk to the health club in just 10-15 minutes and a brisk walk there a workout followed by relaxation and then a stroll back has become part of my daily my routine.
