This stall is causing intense distress, it's incredibly cruel to keep birds in a tiny cage, on public display. This is extremely stressful to the bids which are unable to exhibit normal behaviour (Animal Welfare Act 2006) and makes me very angry. This has no place in today's High Street, the singing is not joyful, it is stress, and can be heard across Orpington. Just the sound makes me feel sick, so I have to avoid the area and take my business to another town. Please, please stop this cruelty.

Disappointing. I have decided to try to use local business more so was excited to buy from this fruit and veg stall as Ive been walking past it regularly. While the garlic was tasty, they dont sell carrots, and only sell potatoes in bags (can you not buy loose potatoes any more?) also, bag of potatoes and the net the garlic came in were all single use plastic bags. Far cry from the paper bags another reviewer claimed they use.

Alf's fruit and veg stall is a little gem. We generally do our weekly fruit and veg purchases from here as they are normally ripe and lasts a number of days. No plastic wrappings that you would find in supermarkets just paper bags. Staff are friendly and helpful which is great. We have been coming here for years. There is a vast array of produce on offer from mangos to mushrooms, dates to bananas. Excellent prices for the amount you get. Highly recommended to keep the independent man or woman in business.
