We had a really bad experience with the Lincolnshire Police Force having never really had anything to do with the police and found the IOPC to be of little help. An incident we reported six times was not even recorded until approx. two years later, procedures were not followed, and on top of this I was incorrectly fined / DBS impacted, it took two years to clear this up and refund me the fine and this was only after we read up on law and pointed out the basic error, a basic error the Forces' internal investigation completely missed. All this created much unnecessary stress and anxiety and we went from always trusting the police to having no trust what so ever. We of course reported each mistake to the IOPC but they just passed it back to the force to deal with in house (usually the senior officer of those we had complained about) what it really needs is a system whereby all complaints are dealt with outside of the force instead of them marking their own homework and perhaps a register of complaints should be kept and made public so others can see if there have been similar complaints made against officers. I suggest the IOPC investigates all complaints, not pass them back to the force in question, to fund this you could get rid of the in house Prof Standards Dept and the OPCC. YouGov surveys show trust in the police continuing to fall much to the detriment of society as a whole but it will most likely continue to do so until major changes are made.

It is hard to put my bitter feelings into words about the handling of my complaints. It started with BTP Wilson Davis 2291 who attacked me at the scene of the incident with clear racial motivation where I was already victim of a hate crime. Instead of helping me, the victim, he helped the suspect to escape from the scene & later communicated the attackers wrong car registration number to me. My complaint against the BTP officer was handled in sadistic way by Miss Amanda Summerfield and my appeal against the Corruption & untrustworthiness of the complaints process was ignored by Mr Rahath Khan who was supposed to look into it, After chaising and calling to IOPC for many times and ask aboutmy case , IOPC decided to send my complain to Professional Standards Department to be reviewed by Kamal Saund who was from beginning started to protect and covering Rahat Khan fault as they were from same root and background, my complain didn't get proper respond . The action of Rahat Khan & Kamal Saund, reminded me those corrupt officers were caught in Rotherham while ago. Sad these guys do corruption in Police uniform.
