1st Scenic Ltd: Double Glazing Kent

1st Scenic fitted a new black aluminum conservatory and two outside doors to our property. They completed the work within the time-frame they said, the guys on the job were excellent, professional and polite. They completed the work to a very high standard and left the job clean and tidy. We were totally blown away at how good the job now looks. Thanks very much and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again for further glazing work.

In 2021 1st Scenic Windows Ltd replaced the leaking roof of my conservatory. Unbeknownst to me, the vents above the windows were attached to the old roof. I did not discover until months after the replacement when I went to open them for the summer that the vents were gone. What resulted from this, was that everything in the conservatory went mouldy. We did what we could to mitigate it and left the window open. When the ice came, we closed it. As a result of the condensation building up, our roof is now dripping water into the conservatory. We have been nervous about charging my electric wheelchair and we have thrown out several mouldy chairs. After sending someone round to look at it, who said he would impress on them at the office that it was the removal of the vents that caused the problem, First Scenic rang me to inform me that the contract stipulated there were no vents in the replacement roof, and it was in no way unusual for them to replace vented roofs with un-vented roofs due to vent leaks. They did not advise me of the risk, or even that the vents would be gone in the first place. When I told them that because of this I had been unable to make an informed decision at the time, it was made clear that this was not their concern, and that while he could speak to the engineer it would be a 'he said, she said' situation. During this phone call, I was informed that condensation buildup due to inadequate ventilation is a very common problem with conservatories, so on reflection I can only recommend that you not replace your conservatory roof with First Scenic at all, as they will knowingly install this common problem in your home without warning and cause you property damage that they will not take any accountabiity for.
