They removed my car while I had a resident permit. Imagine the incompetence. They changed the plate from "resident permit only" to one with limited hours on it while my car was parked!? And straightaway removed 3 cars. Come on who does that? Just put a warning on the windshield so that I am aware of it. What if this happened to you? Had to pay 265 for no reason. The staff here does a really good job at releasing the car after you pay off course.. Well done council

My partner and I visited my brother this weekend. We drove from Manchester to Walthamstow parked up outside his house and parked slightly on the curb as it was a narrow road with cars parked all over. There were no signs to indicate that its illegal to park with your wheel on the curb. Instead of a simple ticket on the car with a fine, which we would accept as weve broken the rules by parking on the curb, we had our car towed away with absolutely no information about where it had gone or what to do next. We got home from a day out, and thought our car had been stolen. We knocked on neighbours doors to ask for any info. One neighbour said they saw it being taken by the council. We rang all numbers we could find, to be told no car with our reg is in any compound and if it had been taken by the council, the system would show where it was, max 2hrs after its taken. They advised us to ring the police. This all just seemed so brutal and ruthless for making a simple mistake like parking up on the curb. After a sleepless night trying to figure out if the car had been stolen or taken by the council, We walked to the nearest compound the following morning as soon as we woke up. To find the car there. It was like a hunt for our own car. So harsh and caused so much stress. Maybe focus on people who are committing actual crimes instead of making money out of people making minor mistakes. We met many people in the waiting room all saying the same thing. Apparently they lurk all over waiting to tow peoples cars away. Unbelievable.
