Wow! HRCH seem to do amazing work. They and their team are an example to others in healthcare. My father was admitted to A&E on Wednesday and an x-ray revealed a broken foot. On Thursday a phenomenally helpful nurse attended at this home and assessed his needs. Today, Friday, a wonderful human being visited to give him a raised loo seat and to double check his other seating needs. Hamid Tipu was a true gentleman. He was punctual, pleasant, caring and utterly charming in how he dealt with my father. Hamid, the nurse who visited yesterday and the team behind them make me proud of the NHS.

They are very difficult to work with, staff told me you have just 2 weeks to make an appointment after receiving their letter, then they cancel your doctor's referral. Every time I call I get a different story from staff, they seem to like to give reasons why they cannot help instead of finding a solution - it's like they are paid to stop you getting access to care. I feel bad for all those senior citizens trying to get help to improve their health. Close this place and open a much better group in their place where their actions match their words (= integrity) and the service is to help people! There are wonderful doctors in Richmond this place is letting everyone in Richmond down.

I looked after my mother during the last years of her life. For most of that time, the district nurses were helpful and supportive. In April 2020, one who had no realistic idea of mums frailty did a procedure that resulted in excruciating pain (it was the first time in 65 years that I saw my mum cry), and an infection. The nurse rang and I reported that mum was in severe pain. She responded thats fine. I repeated what I said. Slowly. Clearly. Her response did not change. I told her that I didnt think it was fine and would submit a complaint. A nurse who rang the next day sounded more concerned but said that pain was normal. All we had was paracetamol. We felt totally helpless. As I found out later when I wanted to know what they had written in their notes, I saw neither had recorded the pain. I also discovered that nurse 1 had decided that my complaint should be dealt with using a safeguarding enquiry. And by portraying me as a hysteric. Very 1950s. That begun five days before my mums death, helped by a sibling with a psychological disorder who provided some choice untruths to help the case. The trust issued an apology, but the nurse got away with her unprofessional behaviour. I think we deserve better. I did not deserve the character assassination that some of the nurses used to help cover up the failure to relieve mums suffering. Other nurses were fab.
