firstly I want to say that this is genuinely my impression of the last 2 weeks I have been employed by Hallmark. For those of you who are aware of what past reviews may or may not have said about the company it was so reassuring how openly this was discussed by HR and management in my interview. I went away feeling good about the prospect of joining a team that had obviously worked so hard on reshaping moulding a better company, bringing in new fresh thinking members of staff and is was so clear that everyone had a positive and confident outlook for the new Hallmark and its future. This future was now the focus to achieve From the first phone call with Kieran it made me feel like this was something I wanted to be apart of and I wouldnt be just another driver number. Everyone is part of that future and with the right attitude we all could help build something worthy of the Hallmark name. On my interview day this motivation obviously wasnt just at management level. As soon as I entered the grounds I was greeted with a smile and asked if I needed any help. I was shown to reception where whilst I waited there, various members of staff chatted to me and made me feel so welcome. I was told THE Boss would be coming to chat with me in a moment of which I didnt think too much into at that time I was just enjoying the buzz around the office and taking everything around me in. A gentlemen came through and introduced himself. He was THE Managing Director of Hallmark and yes it would be a lie if I was to say I didnt panic a little. Well there was no need. The usual questions were asked from either side and then we spoke openly about not only what Hallmark was looking for but also what I wanted out of my working life. My life actually mattered!!! I found with ease I could talk openly about the difficulties that I previously faced trying to be a good single mum to my girls whilst juggling a full time work life. After a really nice discussion we looked at various roles, what they required and if I could comfortably full-fill them and happily become part of the team. We agreed on a plan that maybe could work and I was so pleased when he shook me by the hand and welcomed me to Hallmark yay! I went on to meet the controllers who made me feel so welcome and assured me that if I had any questions or problem they were there to help in anyway whether it be on the road or something came up at home beyond my control they would always do whatever they could to help. Straight away that respect was made mutuel. I can happily say this agreement two weeks later hasnt changed one bit. I have come across things Im not too sure about and dont feel Im being a pain ringing to ask them what could be a stupid question. Every time the phone is answered and they have talked me through what I need to do. Already I am confident I can ask if Im unsure and Im never made to feel uncomfortable. Well I could go on and on but to cut to the chase, this work ethic and team feeling runs throughout the whole company. Departments working together, people thinking of each other right down to remembering a little thing like acknowledging one another can make such a difference; just hello and a smile can change a day. At Hallmark we all matter and we all muck in - believe me I mean EVERYONE! after my interview I was getting details of another depot and I as I turned to the door, There was a man with a mop and a bottle of detergent which I think caught my eye more so because he was in a shirt and suit trousers. He turned to face me. Im sure I had met him before..... it was THE Boss I was just talking to. To me that says how much he cares. We are ALL part of one team no exceptions. Nothing is below him or less important to him and thats why Hallmark is now and will be the best company to be apart of. Together we can make anything happen following our MDs actions and work ethic.. I really do believe Ive found the best job and I would recommend if this sounds too good to be true then call Kieran and come meet the team!
