I went to Alter and Tweak this morning to see Hind about my wedding dress and get some alterations done, and I wasn't very happy with the experience. As soon as I put my dress on, Hind commented on my tattoos, saying that she expected I would need to cover these with make up on the wedding day. I thought this was very rude, but I didn't want to be confrontational so I didn't say anything at the time. We then continued with pinning etc, which was mostly fine, but she did make a few unusual comments, like that it may not be possible to line the lace bodice, which I was ensured by the bridal shop was perfectly possible. In the end I asked for the straps to be shortened, the back to be taken in and front of the bodace lined, and the skirt to be taken up. Hind advised this would be 400, which seemed extortionate to me for what I was requesting, and she did not provide any sort of breakdown for why it was this much. In the end I decided that I wasn't willing to pay this, especially after her initial comment on the way I looked. I didn't use her services so cannot speak for her work, but I didn't enjoy my experience here and would not reccomend. In the end I went to Ducane Richmond in a panic and they were great and charged me 250 for the same services.
