Wickes

On Thursday 30 June I walked passed the store and saw a sign that stated the store would close down on 2 July. It is well known the owners of Wickes want to reduce the number of stores they have and have sold this site to Lidl. If you go on to the Wickes website you will see this store no longer exists. If you look up planning applications on Kingston Council website you will see updated planning applications for the site by Lidl or for Lidl. Google take forever to update closed sites.

We will miss you Kingston Wickes...But not a lot. We will miss your one working till, and your one broken tillbut not a lot. We will miss the fact you never tidied up and never thought to give your shelves a clean. Or keep them filled with stockbut not a lot We will miss the switches and sockets you sold, covered in cement dust. And plaster boards with corners broken off. We will miss all thatbut not a lot. We will miss your big empty car park, and hey! Did you ever have bicycle parking? No, you did not. We will miss playing the game you played where all the staff hid, and the customers had to try and find thembut could not. And how we used to laugh when we got our products home and realised that you had not put the screws in the box. We did laugh at thatbut not a lot.
